Equipment Maintenance Team...

The Briar Team owns and operates an extensive and varied fleet of late model equipment. The onsite Maintenance Facility includes eight inside bays, four covered bays and a Parts Department with an extensive inventory in shelf parts and field equipment for the crews.

Maintenance and safety are the daily fare, not just buzz words on a poster. The Shop and Field mechanics are the best in their field and keep each piece of equipment in excellent running condition and regularly maintained for the crews.

Maintaining its own equipment fleet is an enormous task undertaken with great care and pride. By maintaining its own equipment, the company has full control over schedules, parts, and quality of service. Each piece of equipment has its own preventative maintenance schedule and is thoroughly documented. When a piece of Briar equipment is sold, the maintenance documentation on services and parts repair and replacement become a part of the selling package.

Each operator is required to review a checklist prior to driving or operating a piece of equipment. This double check and triple check system assures us that our team members will be operating equipment that is monitored and maintained for optimal performance and safety.

At the project sites, as team members operate the various pieces of equipment they can be confident that if necessary, one of our many Field Mechanics are on call for fueling and any necessary repairs should they require assistance. Down time is almost non-existent when you have well maintained equipment, trained operators and skilled mechanics.

Equipment Superintendent: Ronnie Yelvington

"I joined the Briar family in April of 1995. I was initially hired to run the lube service truck and slowly worked my way into working in the Shop. The company has always provided employees the opportunity to advance.

"By the spring of 1997 I was promoted to a Shop Foreman position. Always striving to improve, I spent the next 6 years working along side some of the best mechanics and maintenance personnel in the industry.

"Then in the fall of 2003 I was asked to step up to another challenge, this time as the Equipment Superintendent. At this point in my career, I'm proud to say that I have been entrusted with the responsibility of keeping the Shop and an entire fleet of vehicles and equipment running in tip-top shape. Along with an awesome crew of dedicated individuals, we keep all the "wheels turning" and insure that all our projects are staffed and ready to "rock & roll".

"It's sometimes difficult for me to put into words how I feel about Mike Good and the entire Briar family; I've been working since I was 16 years old and I have to say that working for The Briar Team is very personal and extremely rewarding. We have our challenges and usually meet them head on.

It's awesome to know that you're a part of something so successful; one of the premier site development companies in Central Florida. However, if you're just looking for a check, not willing to give 100% or more, not always striving to get better; to always be an "A" player, then you might want to look elsewhere.

This company did not get where it is today by catering to mediocrity, we are the best because we care about our people, our customers and our community."
